WHAT IS Integrative YOGA THERAPY?

Yoga is a science and philosophy that teaches practices to live life in a way that brings into union the mind, body and soul to bring the practitioner to realize their true Self, and ultimately to then live in harmony with all of life.

Psychology is the science and study of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

Integrative Yoga therapy is a holistic and integrative approach to healing and wellness, empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of yoga and psychology to assist them in creating energetic balance in their lives. It does not diagnose or attempt to “fix” a specific condition, but rather seeks to integrate the experiences (joys and challenges) of life in a meaningful and manageable way to find harmony and balance in mind, body, and spirit. Integrative Yoga Therapy treats the whole person, addressing all dimensions of life: anatomical/physiological, energetic, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual. It is a system of investigation, transformation and self-realization that works with you to guide you into gaining awareness, insight, and integration of your thoughts, beliefs, actions and desires. Specific asanas (poses), pranayama practices (breath work), meditations and relaxation techniques, as well as energy work are explored, taught, and practiced in sessions to suit your individual needs in healing on all levels.
