Therapeutic Yoga for Trauma and PTSD ~ 6 week series

Healing from trauma is vulnerable, courageous, and essential work for the Self. Trauma manifests in the body as stagnant energy affecting our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By bringing heightened awareness to the body we can begin the process of healing from the inside out. In this 6-week therapy group specific asanas (postures), pranayama practices (breathing practices), meditations and relaxation techniques will be explored, taught, and practiced to suit the needs of each client in healing on all levels (mind, body, spirit). You will learn how to utilize a yoga practice to repair and work with the nervous system; helping to work with your trauma and leave the group with tools to feel empowered, strong, and capable.
*This is a confidential yoga therapy group.
No prior yoga experience is needed. Each week's class will build upon the one prior, and will consist of yoga practice, journal prompts and reflection, and group process (talk therapy).
Bring a journal or notebook and something to write with.
